Why Natural Rubber is the Natural Choice
Share
At Rubber Soul Comfort, we believe that everyday comfort can come with a little more care for the planet. That’s why our hot water bottles are made from natural rubber — a renewable resource that offers a more thoughtful and sustainable alternative to synthetic plastic or PVC bottles.
A renewable resource, just like Canadian maple syrup
Did you know that natural rubber comes from trees? It’s harvested from the milky sap of rubber trees, which can produce latex for many years. When responsibly managed, these trees provide a renewable source of material.
It’s a lot like maple syrup here in Canada. Just as maple trees can be tapped year after year without being cut down, rubber trees can be tapped for their latex while continuing to grow. Both are beautiful examples of how nature can provide useful resources when we harvest them responsibly.
Why FSC-certified rubber matters
The natural rubber we use is FSC-certified. The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) promotes responsible forest management, helping protect forests, biodiversity and the people and communities who depend on them.
Choosing FSC-certified materials means supporting more responsible sourcing and better forest management practices. It’s one way we can make more thoughtful choices about the materials in the products we bring into your home.
A thoughtful alternative to PVC
Many conventional hot water bottles are made from PVC, or polyvinyl chloride, a type of plastic made using fossil-fuel-based raw materials. Like other plastics, PVC presents environmental challenges throughout its life cycle, including its production and disposal.
Natural rubber offers a different approach: a plant-derived, renewable material.
Last longer. Generate less waste.
We believe the most sustainable product is one you know is going to last. Our hot water bottles are designed with durability in mind, so you can enjoy comforting warmth without constantly replacing a product that wears out too soon. Each bottle is individually leak-proof tested by our manufacturer and the production process is managed by ISO:9001:2015.
A longer-lasting product means fewer replacements, less waste and less going into the garbage. It’s a simple idea: buy thoughtfully, use for longer and waste less.
Small choices, warmer futures
We started this business because we believe comfort and sustainability can go hand in hand. By choosing natural rubber, supporting responsible forestry and creating products designed for long-term use, we hope to make a small but meaningful difference.
Natural warmth. Thoughtful materials. Less waste.
We wanted to make a product that helps you feel good, and that you can feel good about buying.
